![]() You might be able to change the tire yourself, but this involves a lengthy process of rummaging through your trunk to get everything you need, jacking it up, undoing the bolts, and swapping them out-assuming you even have a spare tire. Most folks call some sort of roadside assistance, or perhaps even a tow truck, but this could leave you stranded on the side of the road for hours before they come to your rescue. Worse, when a tire does go flat, your options are scarce. The higher top speed does not interest me as I doubt I will see any speeds much above 100 MPH.Can there possibly be anything more annoying than a flat tire? Whether you’re on a road trip, or within a few miles of home, nothing will stop you in your tracks quite like some busted rubber. Spending money for the summer tires and then more for winter tires and rims is hard to justify. I work from home and when the roads are bad, I really don't have to drive except in an emergency. Yes, I am in northern Michigan, and we do see about 75 to 100 inches of snow in winter. And then you can swap to the winters if/when you need to. When the summers wear out, replace with All Seasons if you want. ![]() Order the summers and run real winters when the season comes. Or do winters and summers on two sets of rims, if you live anywhere that gets real snow. My car came with Michelin Sport summers and I swapped for Michelin Pilot A+S all seasons. I would order the version with the summer tires (higher speed limiter) and swap out to the tires of your choice.
